I just spent the last 2 days installing a new water pump, belts and hoses on my 9,000 mile '70. It wasn't leaking but when I finally got the 'torture' hole open in the cabin to have a look see if anything was about to blow up I noticed heavy rust on the pump, a pump pulley idler that was frozen in the loose position. and a jack shaft pulley idler frozen in the tight belt position. the belts and hoses were in great shape for 35 year old items but I wanted to change them so I wouldn't have to worry about them. At 6'-4" and over 200lbs. working thru the torture hole, even with the seats out of the car was a bitch; so just a suggestion that if you need to go 'in'. go in once and change everything. I was surprise to learn that the water pump is not from a '69 or '70 mustang. its a '69 ford econoline van, E-100 to E-300, or Bronco; not a pick up or stang.
