David,

As always, great work.

My only negative comment is that the music choice seems a bit, um, "lounge". I suspect that you selected it during one of your "full-body massage-oil treatments" by the Upper Hampstead Competitive Belly-dancing Team.

Maybe a re-cut using "I can't Drive 55" by Sammy Hagar? Big Grin

Thanks for viewing my training video.

But sheesh. I can’t believe all the people who dislike my music choices. The only negative YouTube comments I get are about the music – which isn’t allowed anyhow, since it’s clearly a copyright infringement of Anita Baker’s music. It was just a quick test and I’ll dump it next time I edit this.

But hey, this is supposed to be the ‘Pantera’ forum. Where Pantera owners are all unique and free to do what they want. No rules. Wing or no wing. Wide bodied or not. Campy style or Gangnam style. Original or as far from it as you want. Clean, dirty, wild or tame. Everything Pantera should be like their owners – entitled to their own opinion of what is cool.

Obviously I chose what I like in music. For those who don’t know me, I spent most of my wild youth playing saxophones and flute with some legendary R&B bands, jazz rock bands and then starved as a jazz musician for many years luckily coming to my senses before becoming a statistic of hard living.

Anyhow… I like lots of different music but this one fit my mood at the time. Nice changes. Slow, soft, textured and emotional. The best that I got.

As for Sammy Hagar…

“One foot on the brake, one foot on the gas???
Too much traffic I can’t pass???”

What a dumb video . He’s an idiot driver.
Looks like I missed the originals as well. Yeah adding music is a challenge to videos. Seems like all over youtube you have people complaining of music especially on automotive videos which is understandable. It's not just choice of music its having music period. Lets face it, most of us all want to hear the v8 in all its glory. The best way I found was to fade music out during areas you have good volume on the engine and fade music back in during stills or non running shots. It takes quite a bit of extra work though to do this timing but some music has nice effect vs nothing during these cuts. I don't even bother with famous or popular songs anymore because of all the copyright battles, not worth the hassle or the time spent timing beats to transitions in editing, only to have the copyright folks yank out the music.

Seems the GoPro cameras are getting more popular especially with the motorsports crowd. The only thing those cameras lack is a good microphone option. You really need an external microphone and a wombat type cover to get rid of wind noise while driving. Otherwise you can make some great movies. Hope more Pantera folk get into this because we need more good videos, they just help promote the cars. People are becoming more adept at video editing and production including lighting and taking it a step above basic home movie WYSIWYG type editing. Glad to see others trying their hand at this, really helps share our passion for these cars.

Every forum has different code you have to insert to work with embedded code. When you are on youtube go to "Share" then "Embed" then checkmark the "Use old embed code" (you have to use the old code because this forum software won't recognize the new code) Once you have that window copied Ctrl-C on keyboard, then in your post where you edit, you can either click the button that looks like a filmstrip and it will add [ FLASH_VIDEO] [ /FLASH_VIDEO] you need to copy and paste that youtube code Ctrl-V between those two. I put spaces in front of the FLASH and /FLASH just so it would display it on the forum, but you would have to remove those.

Very cool! I think if people are going to critique videos you need to put up or shutup Smiler I gained a new respect for video editing and filming after trying my hand at it. It takes a ton of time even for just a few minutes of actual footage.

Not a Pantera, but since I was tuning it, I took some pictures and some video while I was out so I could monkey with Adobe Premiere. This was all done with an Entry Level DSLR Nikon d3100. The stills I used an old canon FD lens with an adapter on to use with the Nikon. Only good for close up stills though. You can see I timed a few transitions with the music and faded it in/out on different scenes. I thought the music was fitting as the song is Nero - Reaching Out which took samples from Hall & Oates 80's "Out of Touch" Song. Hall actually gave them the samples to work with. Fitting for a modern take on an 80's car.

I was definitely inspired by Warren Fu's Nero Music Video Must be the Feeling with the Pantera
