I think I have a set of poly mounts that are really thin. Mechanic says they don't look damaged, but they sound like the mounts that others have said should be replaced.
What kind of mounts should I have for my 500hp 351C?
Some say the poly mount biscuits will melt due to header heat. That said, the stock rubber ones are ridiculously expensive, unless Wilkinson has added them to his growing list of cheaper, newer reproductions.
I drove the car a little bit today and noticed the motor lifts at least an inch and then drops with a "thunk" that I can feel under my butt if I let the clutch out quickly in first gear and then let off.
That's bad, right?
$80 doesn't sound bad. It is less than I paid for the flasher switch for my dash. :-)

...You guys must be Nuts!! It's a $2.00 Piece of 1.0 Inch Thick 'HARD Rubber'!!! Think about that for a Minute and then come to your Senses and do something about it! I DiD!! It's Helpless People like You that make the Vendors Rich!!...
I know what I would do... Find the right thickness rubber, drill the correct size hole, find the right size washers, and small tube to sandwich between them, and weld together. TA DA A new motor mount doughnut!!! Jeff PS: Rubber does come in round stock so a band saw would work wonders to get the correct thickness.
