Hey PWT, that looks like my bike that is cut off in your earlier picture. Give me some love!
Here is a improper braking technique at Deals Gap.

George, I gave away my six day trials Penton 125 to a friend to restore. He is a big KTM fan/rider, the 125 had KTM on the back of the seat and six gears. I restored this 80 xt 500 Yamaha foe myself, and ride it daily to pick up paint..etc from town. This is one of the first big 4 strokes.

quote:I think the guys who rode Suzuki GS1150's, and GSX750's might disagree more than a little. Not to mention Honda 650 Turbo's and 1100 Sabres, Kawasaki 900 Ninja's, Yamaha FJ1100's and V-Max's (all of these were 1985 models.)
Doh! You're absolutely right. I meant to say fastest production 700 in 1985, which it was. The GSX750 was actually identical to my bike, but had an extra 48cc's. Thanks for keeping me honest.

Hi from New Zealand guys
Excited to say my first post on the Forum! (this looked like a good place to start) Even more excited as I've been chewing through back issues of 'Profiles' doing research for buying a Pantera and some of you guys are like celebrites to me! I've never looked up to so many people I dont know!
I'll be a Ducati man until my back gives out and its partly because of the same thing that I love about Panteras, they're built with passion, (and partly as a result?) inherently flawed, they respond awesomely to mods, and they sound like the hammers of hell (grin)
My Ducati started life as a humble '89 900ss and now has: Kawasaki USD front end with carbon fender, custom instruments, Ducati Supermono carbon fairing, '95 900ss tank and peg hangers, Ducati Paso filler, big bore motor, flatslide carbs, custom spaghetti pipes with carbon mufflers, carbon hugger, Ducati 955 Corsa carbon tail unit... you get the idea? Cant WAIT till I get my Pantera!!!
Bikes and Panteras are as complimentary as Vegemite on Toast (er...Mom and Apple Pie?) By the time I get over to the US to do some *serious* Pantera research (looking at this October) I'm sure I'll have the whole American vernacular thing down pat
I also helped create the Bitten (see pic) which was also a radical sportsbike but like a Harley has a 60 degree motor and was kinda missing something for it. While a Duke is nothing like a Harley think of a Ducati as 1/4 a Pantera, courtesy of the 90 degree V motor - which makes all the difference - and you're on the right track. Of course this means you're all now so curious you'll all have to go out and try one...
