How does one reset this mouse trap without getting bit?
Can it be done with the door hung?
I do have the pin.

They make a tool to collapse door hinge spring for removal. It is pretty cheap. Most parts stores online sell them less than $20 . The pin is another story .Not sure.
I have my hinges off but they are not close at hand (@body shop) The tools are a little sketchy because they are now very cheaply made (mine is about 30yrs old) and very universal. I have done many door hinge pins over the years but not on a Pantera .
The spring has a tendency to pop off the end. Maybe bending the tip a small amount might help. Scratching the paint might be avoided with a little duct tape. Good luck.

I rebuild them all the time. The stops on top oval out and the door opens to far. I use drill rod for the replacement pins made to look original. Trying to repin the stop assembly mounted will be difficult if not impossible. It fell apart most likely from being worn out.
