I have the Ford Motorsport 341 harness, distributor and control box.
It is an MSD 6a in a Ford package. Sorry, should haave said had.

I was never able to find any adapter that works.
the Detomaso Tach needs two connections.

One is the distributor wire from the coil, the other is 12v switched from the ignition.

I had to run new wires to the tach. The "plug in" harness from Ford Motorsport didn't take a Pantera Tach wiring into account.

It was just simpler to run new wires to the tach.

It is the only way I could get it to work.

I don't have ANYTHING good to say about MSD or thier support staff.

I have three dead MSD's here. Why I'm saving them beats me. It's probably just a monument to MY STUPIDATY.

I've had all three fail after sitting in the car unrun, IN THE GARAGE all winter.

Go to start it up in the spring and kablewy. What trash.

I went strictly to Motorcraft. Everything just swaps over and no problems to speak of.

Sorry this is just my little house of horrors. I'm sure not everyone has these memories.
Regardless of the distributor, you use the same tach adaptor when you use either a capacitive discharge ignition or direct fire EFI like electromotive. Use the MSD8920 which is for voltage triggered tachs.

Doug, if you want to send me one of those MSD units, I will see if I can get it apart and fix it. It would be interesting to see what is failing in these boxes. Perhaps I could make a business of fixing and upgrading MSD boxes.
Please correct me if i'm wrong. I run a msd dist and the tach adapter 8920 I think. There are 2 ways to hook it up. There are 2 wires that feed the adapter. The point I want to make is these thing will burn! Confused I have fried 2 of them. I use a very small fuse to power them. 1-2 amp. I have not burned one lately, but I have blown 2 fuses. DO NOT feed the adapter with much amperage. And do not put it where it will catch the car a fire if it sparks or melts. MSD has replaced mine.
