Now that we have a few Lambo posts, have you guys checked the price on some of the earlier Murci cars and a few diablos? They seem pretty reasonable. At times I somehwhat contemplate selling a Pantera and getting a Murci, however further depreciation and maintenance on a Lambo kind of scares me (I am not one to throw away money). Over time it seems our Panteras retain value and maintenance is a piece of cake. Would hate to get a Murci and lose $20K of value on it each year as newer models keep coming out, but maybe that is just how it is with the Lambos and newer type of exotics.

When the Audi Lambo Murci cars get to 10 years old, jump on a good one and ride into the sunset. They are German engineered and by this time, all of the depreciation is gone; plus, they made so many of them that parts will be around and with the German engineering thing, they should be pretty decent cars in the long term. Just be careful of cars that come out of hurricane flood country. Wetness and electronics do not mix -- totally unlike Maker's Mark....
I have been in several Gallardos, Murcielagos and various F-cars these last couple of months. If you can swing either of the 2 Lambos...do it! They are amazing! I guess in some respects a lot can be said about owning a modern technological masterpiece. These cars really are special in their own right, although a lot can be said about the virtue of a "Blood and Guts Pantera" too.
That 'verde ithaca' or the orange would be my top choices. A Muricelago would be top, but I'd settle for a Gallardo, neither are staggering in performance though. That said I truly think the new Audi R8 is a huge amount of car for $115K.

I too have been looking at Lamborghini (and Ford GT) prices tumble. With my current stable I find I'm constantly working on cars, sometimes I think it would be great just to go out flip the key and drive, but then it comes to choosing which current car(s) would have to go and I find I can't decide.

Although I'd like to get away from being constantly under the car or hood, I keep telling (read: lying to) myself one day I'll reach a point they don't need anything!

With a Lambo, not woking on it would be a plus, but will ultimately be a big negative, which means keeping a piggy bank for when it goes wrong/needs servicing. Someone said put away a minimum $100/month for services.
The guy I purchsed my Pantera from down in Wichita, Ks. has since gone through a Hall Super Pantera, two Diablos & now has a Diablo & a Murcielago (colors unknown). Told him the last time I saw him up here in Topeka in a friends recently restored Pantera that I'd have to make a road trip down to see him this Spring & play with his cars! Not sure if I'll get to drive them or not - this guy is one of those types that makes you take off you shoes before you can even get into his car Frowner We'll see!
