I have an early Pantera, 1971 #1874 and would like some help identifying the
cylinder heads, as I have heard there were many different heads that show up
on the early engines-2v, 4v, boss, ones with mechanical lifters. What I
want to do is upgrade to a Ford EEC-IV injection system like Thomas
Tornblom has done. I belive mine have hydraulic lifters, and the exhaust
ports are rectangular 2"Hx1.75"W. I don't want to take the engine down till
I gather all the parts so as to keep the down time to a minimum.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

If you can see the casting mark on the exhaust's port (might be pretty difficult without the heads off the car, or perhaps may use some kind of mirror), give us that, then we can give you more information. It will be four characters (such as D0AE). Look at the next port over from that, I think you'll see another letter there (like an H, or GA). From that, it should be possible to know what you have.
