Just installed new stroker in 2235 last week and having blast breaking in. Briefly 393 Cleveland, steel crank, forged rods, forged pistons, 11.5 compression, heavily ported 3v alloy heads, roller rockers, oiling mods, high volume pump, edelbrock RPM Air Gap,750 Holley,
custom headers and stainless Borla exhaust,
Crane F238/248 solid lifter camshaft.
I have dropped a couple of gears compared to the 351 hydraulic 4v setup. 5th feels like 3rd.
2nd is too scary and 1st is all smoke. So far have only taken up to 4000 revs. Valve float is 7200 and peak power 6600 on the cam card. Drop 500 revs for the stroker and we are at 6600 and 6100 rpm. Some excess heat that has to be dealt with and the idle is a bit aggressive....but 2235 has become a monster. Throttle reponse down low is now out of this world.
