The Pantera raq is about 1" too long by my calculations. I input the suspension parameters in susprog. I built a jig to make these measurements by cutting tubing and bolting the tubing into the suspension points. Then I built a frame and welded it to these points. I unbolted the frame and used this frame to to measure suspension points:
This jig will mount to the suspension points in...my Pantera.
This is 3 different raqs. The middle raq is the Pantera raq which is about an inch too long between pivots. The bottom raq is the MG raq which I forget where ti is at. The top raq is the power steering raq which is about 2 inches too short between pivots.
I needed to change the length of the power raq and I wanted to make it a little adjustable.
I cut off the old ball joint. It is not weldable because the heat destroys the ball joint. The MG ball joint is rebuildable so I was able to take it off and us it. I welded the ball joint to an extended threaded rod.
With the threaded rod I can fine tune the length then weld in place.
This leaves me about an inch of adjustment.
