New Carb - Recommendations? | The De Tomaso Forums

My old Holley is shot ... no choke, no idle and a little hesitant to accelerate prior to 3,000 RPM.

I've done some research and am leaning to a particular model, but with a long winter staring us Canucks in the face, I'm not in any rush to move ahead.

So, I'm interested to know ...

- What carb are you currently running in your 351c?
- What do you like / dislike about it?

I ran a vintage Holley 735 on my mildly setup 351 for years and it ran great. I put the same carb on my hot 393 stroker and jetted it up a couple of sizes and it still runs great. I might try the 850 next spring. The 735's were standard issue on the 428 and 429 Cobra Jets so are plenty of carb for a 351.

PS The page didnt go to my carb like I wanted. But I have the 680 CFM Super Street carb with vacumm secondaries.

Hey Kat. I think I have the same vintage 735 installed now. It sure puts out when she's tuned, but I have messed it up twice in the six months I've owned 3528 ... and now it's time to upgrade.

I'm most likely going to have it rebuilt, though. Never hurts to have a spare.
