Well, it didn't take long. Thanks to a ton of help from the PI Community and many POCA experts, I have come to an agreement to buy my first Pantera - a beautiful '72 Pre-L that has been nicely upgraded and extremely well maintained throughout its life in Arizona. I am making arrangements for transport over the next few weeks, meaning that I will be making the trip out to Canmore in June with my own cat.

I am still rather numb from the experience, which (I believe) is just about to kick into 2nd gear. Some pictures are available at the link below ...

Erik,

That is a very very nice looking car (and fantastic colour!). If you ARE planning to drive her home, I'd suggest waiting until the roads are clear You don't want salt or crud anywhere near that beauty!

Welcome, officially, to the Canadian DeTomaso Owners Group (C-DOG). Smiler

I've been looking for a P-car for quite a while - how did you come across this one?

I reviewed more than 70 cats from a variety of sources: Prova Mo, PI Motorsports, eBay, Craig's List and others. I also posted my intent to purchase on this forum as well as De Tomaso list. Send me a PM if you have any specific questions - and make sure you talk to all the experts out there. Those dudes (you know who you are) were SUPER helpful.
You saw 70 cats before buying one??! Wow, you have lot of discipline. And must be pretty fussy. I would have bought the 2nd one I saw. Actually, I did buy both of mine as soon as I laid eyes on them.

Anyhow, how many women did you date before you got married?

Welcome to the club! Nice looking car. How are you getting it home and when?

Let me clarify: I reviewed about 78 Panteras ONLINE. In most cases it was a simple "delete" - but for others I would dig in to ask details and search for opinions. I only went to see three in person.

I may have run into luck re: transport as my cousin (a big Pantera guy as well) has a 3-car trailer that he uses to transport cars from San Diego to Canada. He is going to give me the 'family rate' from Phoenix to somewhere in Montana. Whew!

By the way, I dated at least 3 girls before getting married - a number that would have been a lot higher had I bought the cat "back in the day'!
