Hello all,

If you look in the Mangusta area http://pantera.infopop.cc/eve/...0045562/m/3311077416 you will see that an English company has made re-creations of the Mangusta wheel. They look brilliant and are modern and safe. Obviously they are spending a lot of money to create these wheels and there is no point making moulds if people don't want to buy the product.

Jonathan from Group 4 Wheels is now considering doing the same with Pantera Group IV/V wheels. As you know, the originals are unobtanium...

I am hoping this post will generate some genuine interest and let Jonathan realise how many people want to order a set. I am willing to put my name down for a set of 10s and 13s to start with - anyone else?

Perhaps someone might have a damaged wheel that might be used to kick start a very accurate replica?

James.

Is it the wheels or the tires that are unobtanium? Sourcing tires seems to be the biggest drawback to the 15" wheels. I think a lot more people would be interested in new 15" wheels if there were tires readily available in the size required. James, I'm curious which make, model and size tires will you use with these wheels, and where they will be sourced from?

All depends on price, I'd be interested if they are true copies. I assume aluminum and not magnesium? Kodiak already do an aluminum 10 spoke copy from a original Campi for Larry Stock, IIRC about $3500 a set.

I always thought it a real shame that Cesar Magistrali didn't pull off sand casting new magnesium from the original Campi molds he has.

I agree with some of the comments. We seem to be able to get Pirellis here in 345, just getting the fronts is difficult.

If you look through the other thread, Jonathan has secured supply of 275 section tyres.

Perhaps those interested could lobby for 17 inch diameter wheels?

I have yet to see another wheel that is anything more than a styling hint of the original Campy. Please point me in the direction of a faithful replica if there is one on the market already.

I have e-mailed Cesare recently, but have heard nothing from him.

To top it off an original set of wheels was just listed on EBay UK for $17,000 USD. Wow.

Far be it for me to question a knowledgeable vendor, but that just doesn't sound right. I don't think you'd even get 8" of backspacing to clear the lower a-arm.

The stock 10" front and 13" rear GT5 Campi wheels (basically the same 13" wheels as quoted) are 4.625" front and 4.75" rear backspacing (to inner lip of tire bead).
