hello, what a great place!

my name is Michael and i came here from FerrariChat and LamboPower. i have had a long list of muscle cars and older Italian exotics.

honestly,i have no idea why its taken me so long to look for a Pantera, but here i am!

i am looking to meet up with any owner / enthusiasts in the southern Georgia / northern Florida area. i am also hoping to find a nice driver Pantera to play with. i have cash in hand!

its great to have a resource like this forum to read and learn from!

i am looking for a nice weekend driver. i cant drive my fun cars to work, so my Lambos and Ferrari's have been for fun on the weekends. i am exempt from inspection and emissions and i could care less about air condtioning or fancy car audio . i would rather just enjoy the car!

there was a nice black car on the AZcars place i called about yesterday, but the nice lady said it was already sold! there is a red one in Bristol TN i am waiting to hear back about, and one in AR also. i have cash in hand, but i am in no rush as sometimes its better for the car to find you! i came from 4 speed trans am and 70-73 Z28's. i have a huge Fbody parts stash i have ads running for on Hemmings. i guess i will have to get active on ebay ( yuck!) Smiler

thank you for the welcome, sorry if i put the thread in the wrong spot!

Heck that is about 30 miles from me. Let me know if you want to go look at it and I will go with ya. Just give me a holler when you are ready.

i spoke with the owner today and he is going to be traveling for several weeks. i am waiting for some pics and more info, but i think its best i look for other cars that are actually available. if i have not found one by the time he returns, i will let you know and throw you some cash for your time and fuel.

i have a thing about not buying white or red cars, but i may have to break that rule!

thank you,

Michael

Now Mike, you just hold on to your money, you will need it for your car. I will run up there for you and my payment is helping out a Pantera brother. That is just the way it works. You don't charge a brother for helping out.

hey, thanks man. he has no way to get me more pics, has no records on the car, and he will be gone for several weeks as of wednesday. car would have to be inspected, paid for and transported by then

Oh heck, it is all part of being a Pantera guy. Owning a Pantera ain't like owning other kind of cars. This is a brotherhood. We are like, being masonaries kinda. We realy are a brotherhood. No other car clubs is like that. We got each others backside, but in a non-gay sort of way.

arg... first a question... why do i have to login for every single post, even if i have not closed the browser or the site!!!

anyway, i have no idea why i have waited so long to look at a Pantera. i have a choice between 2 as i type this.... there is a yellow one here in my town that belongs to the family members of one of the Ford dealers here. its an early car from what i remember, i do have pics of it somewhere! i have not seen it in over a year, and i doubt its for sale.

guess i should shut up and let the thread die!

sorry for my rambling!

Hi Micheal,

I responded to you over on the F-chat site and must tell you that THIS SITE is the one that has kept me marginally sane plus very enthusiastic with my car.

Brief suggestions...

1. Join PI if you haven't already. My investment has been repaid a BUNCH of times over.
2. Banzai Runner, the Pantera Place, and other sites show you the incredible enthusiasm, techniques, and updates that have kept the Pantera very much 'alive' over the years.
3. Don't put yourself in a corner on pricing too much; just like your V8 Ferrari could've had a price swing of $10grand or more with 'values' not limited to the lower of that range... Panteras are the same. Good cars at higher prices can most certainly be the better value.
4. Pay attention to the parts vendors on this site - they sell alot of certain parts because they're failure prone or in need of updating. There's a reason that "original" nylon window gears aren't big sellers.
5. I'll end where I started - this site and its wiling members have been completely invaluable to me, and the president has gone WAY OVER THE CALL in assuring a more pleasant Pantera ownership.

Welcome aboard.

i love the color of your car. my euro 911 that sold today was moss green metallic.

how do i join PI? is there a link?

i am in the process of buying a members car pending a basic PPI.

thanks!!

michael

Great news! And "member" is synonymous with "informed", "aware" or both. They'll have a better handle on the needs. As far as your joining here, I can't remember what I did and am not smart enough to post a link, but someone will doubtless chime in.

Got your PM on the other site, and generally, the later the car, the more Ford improvements were done - except in the area of power and emission controls. (Easily reverted.)

I've had a 911 your color also - a sickness we doubtless share! Can't wait to hear how the Pantera checks out; drive it back home if you want to have fun!
