Hi guys, thank you for letting me join this forum. Just a brief introduction, I am a long time classic car enthusiasts/owner and DIY wrencher from the UK. I've always liked the De Tomaso Pantera and may well be in the market to buy a suitable project car. I hope to learn a bit more and just see where it goes.

What's the rust situation like in the UK? I figure it's pretty bad, probably on par with the northeastern United States. Western states are nice and dry. The south is mixed, lots of Katrina flood cars still out there etc... Is there a 'safe' region to buy a car from in that country where rust is limited by climate?

The problem is the salt used on the roads in winter. If you steer clear of that and keep your car garaged then it's not too bad.
