...but I came away with an Award of Excellence trophy nonetheless. I usually participate in cruise-ins rather than any of the local shows since the Pantera is a driver with the associated warts and not a trailer queen, and besides, I don't like to pay just to park my car for the day. Anyway, since I was "invited" to participate in what I consider my hometown show, I paid my $25 dollars entry fee that at least included a pretty nice event polo shirt. The competition was mostly cars that typically compete in concours events since the guy running this show is the local Hagerty insurance agent. The Sports Car category included a number of pristine Corvettes with a perfect 1964 Vette (original owner) taking top honors. My Pantera received one of three Awards of Excellence. The other recipients were a 1959 MGA in councours condition and a REAL 1964 289 Cobra. I way I see it, my Pantera driver TIED with a show car MGA and a $400,000 Cobra. Big Grin
