My odometer/ trip counter cable is frozen in its shape so it no longer articulates, any one ever replace it or unfreeze it?

I had the same problem and I took the speedometer out (was easier than expected) and once the flexible drive relaxed and I put some WD-40 on it within five minutes it was back in business..
Note:
please be aware of the resistor that is soldered to the light bulb sockets of the generator light… It’s a square about 1.5” long… Don’t break it off
If that resistor is disconnected and the generator bulb burns out you can lose all charge from your generator. Don't ask me how I know .....!
