the 'new' PI newsletter,

Are you referring to the newsletter highlighted in red font on the home page to the forums?

That is the PI Motorsports newsletter. PIM is Dave and Linda Adler and Jerry Sackett. They sponsor (read that, pay for) this forum that is "presented" by Pantera International (George Pence).

But that newsletter is not connected in any manner with Pantera International.

Or are you referring to some other newsletter?

Larry
The transition to live cloud has nothing to do with what's going on with Pantera International or PI Motorsports. Its just Groupee updating their product, making what they consider an improvement to their business. It temporarily affected a lot of people here, including me. I was blocked from access to the forums for at least a whole day.

Larry I did answer the question about the automatic locking of threads previously.

Send me a PM with a link to the thread in question and I'll see if I can unlock it for you. If I can't maybe I'll reconsider the auto-locking feature.

Nope, I meant that one. Making an assumption that a re-changing of the helm was underway. Just reading between the lines.

If I'm wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.
It probably comes down to a question of economics and bandwidth. You can't keep just adding content and bandwidth infinitely, so something has to give at the front end like a rolling delete to keep within bandwidth.

There's probably no way (other than manually) to assess what is just forum banter (and deleteable) vs. good technical content threads.

Fortunately a lot of the technical content gets captured at other websites, but to be sure I save anything I think that is truly noteworthy to Word files. That goes for content from both here and the DT e-mail list.

When I shuffle stuff around to new forums that seems to break old links to the information, I think that's why sometimes your saved links stop working. Nothing is being intentionally deleted. We are already buying the maximum amount of bandwidth offered by Groupee.

If everything is missing prior to a certain date then its either being deleted by Groupee or its being archived somewhere.
