I am in the process of insatlling new carpet and wanted to ask if there is a prefered or correct order that the toe, wheel well, and floor pieces go in? Do the wheel well (sides) go in last over the toe and floor, or does the floor go in last, over lapping the side and toe pieces? My original '71 carpet was a combination of different pieces. Thanks for the help.

John, thanks for the details. My new kit only has one solid piece for the floor. So if I convert for my kit, it would be wheel wells first, then the vertical toe or front firewall and then the single floor piece goes in next and lays over the vertical piece's edges? I should have paid more attention when I tore out all my '71 pieces. I also need to find a way to "flatten out" my foot wells so the single floor piece will not be pulled away from the rocker sides when stepped on. I remember reading one post were someone laid in felt to build that area up to avoid this.

Yes.

You could glue the carpet in place or use small screws.

John
