What was the original finish out of the factory, and what is the best thing to reproduce the look without jet hot coating or other modern day technology? And, what is the material? The guy that did the blasting said it was stamped steel, while I thought it was cast iron.

The original finish was rust, and the best way to reproduce it is salt water.
