I drive my car like it was meant to be driven and that's not going to change. As with everyone, I'd like to keep it lookin good, and after forking out the dough for nice paint, it does pain me to see the small chips starting to show up on the rockers and behind the rear tires.

Anyone used the urethane sheet films for rock chip protection on their PCar? I've been looking at the 3M and comparable products (Clear Bra, StoneGard, etc). No pre-cut kits for Panteras but that's no big deal. 8 mil in various widths is plentiful and available by the foot. Anyone do the install themselves?

Manufcatures caution against self install and recommend their authorized distributors and shops of course. It can't be much different than applying striping or window tinting films, can it?

The rockers and behind the rear wheels are pretty simple surfaces to cover. Anyone have protective film on their cars?

I forked out for the 3M on my wife's (black) car. Absolute shite!

It does a great job of protecting against chips and other blems, but it fades in the UV at a different rate and soon makes the car a two-tone version of its original self ...

I would love to protect the paint on my Pantera, but I don't recommend these products.
