I got the one with the fancy smanshy voltage meter on it. I still don't know how to use it but that's ok, eventually I'll figure that out.

One piece of advice on the installation here is that there is a polarity on the original DT wires.

There is an input and an output.

That is shown in the harness by a variation of the spacing of the stripes on the wires. One is close spacing, the other is wide spacing.

I screwed that up and took forever to figure it out to get it right.

The reason it happen was because NO ONE mention this before ANYWHERE including Jon.

The wires were very stiff and the two fuse boxes didn't want to occupy the same space at the same time. It is a tight space to work in. So it was my decision to disconnect the original entirely first. Wrong decision.



Jon writes directions like Albert Einstein trying to write Shakespeare. There is a fundamental problem with that for me.

That is one interpretation but what I think the reality is, is he is a genius and it is difficult for him to speak with mere mortals?

He gives it his best and has never denied help at all.

The ONLY time he won't talk to you is if you are interrupting his porn time. Big Grin

I for one found his instructions to be excellent. He is always available by phone and always willing to answer questions and give advice. One time he helped me diagnose a cooling fan problem on a friends Pantera. I have purchased may of his products and I always speak to him before beginning the work and after reading the instructions. Jon is a huge asset to the Pantera community IMO.

Genius' tends to understand each other. That leaves me out.

I suppose that is why Einstein could only get a job as a Patent Clerk in Germany? There either were higher level genius' ahead of him in line or no one knew what he was talking about?

Not being a genius, I can't determine the answer to that?

I'm no technical genius, but Jon has provided great customer service to me. He's almost always been available by phone and walked me through anything I didn't understand when I installed his Electronic Ignition System. Actually, his customer service and patience with me has gone WAY BEYOND anything I would expect from a vendor.

He's a great guy, a Pantera enthusiast, and uses his technical expertise to build great products for us! Two enthusiastic thumbs-up in my book!
I have known Jon for many years. He is an electrical savant. His products in many cases are over engineered for their application. But that is just Jon the perfectionist wanting each product to exceed what is needed for the application. Unlike some vendors who develop products, promote and sell them without ever testing them first on a Pantera, Jon’s products are thoroughly tested on his own car before being marketed to the Pantera community.

As for support he has never failed to reply to my e-mails or accept my calls. He is beyond patient even with my often stupid, laughable electrical questions. He has even gone as far as to help me with electrical problems totally unrelated to his products or even vehicles other than my Pantera. Always friendly and glad to help.

Jon has one major fault, he refuses to promote his products on this forum or the POCA list. He just feels that the products and support he provides will speak for themselves. Personally I don’t think Jon will ever be retiring off of what I doubt is a small amount of profit he makes on the relatively small volume of products he sells. I would even go as far as to say the venders like Wilkinson make a larger profit on the PE products he sells than Jon does.

We are beyond fortunate to have someone like Jon Haas supporting our soon approaching 50 year old cars. Bringing the oft cursed Italian mistress’s electrical system in to the 21st century.

Got my Pantera Electronics fusebox installed. It took a while though, mostly my own fault. The recommendation is to move one wire at a time, obviously. But I simply didn't have room for both fuseboxes at one time with my old stiff and very tight wiring loom. So I had to take all wires off the old fusebox first.

The critical incoming wires, I got them right reading the instructions. But when I got to 20+ wires feeding from it, I ran into problems. First of all the wires' colors didn't match the instructions fully, neither the marking on the fuse box. Secondly the fusebox itself had different markings than the instructions showed. So while most were obvious, I had to get help from Jon Haas, so we had a few mails going back and forth. It was of course difficult for him to analyze remotely, but in the end it worked out. Of interesting problems along the way were A/C that only worked when lights were on (a IGN+ wire incorrectly put in Lights area) and one of the B/W wires that feed the interior lights was in IGN+ area, so with Ign off the was a constant half strength interior light draining my battery.

So my recommendation is to try to move one wire at a time as I didn't and then test all systems, and ensure there's no current draw on the battery *) when there shouldn't be. And then contact Jon, he'll be happy to help.

*) I've seen many ways to check that, but I think Jon's is the most conclusive, remove plus cable, connect test light and volt meter between plus cable and plus on battery. If it lights up you have a serious draw, as I had
Gosh we need to put this to rest. Jon is a great guy. Easy to work with, and on top of his game. I've gotten to the point now, that I've used just about every product he offers in customers cars. Never a single failure. He has sent me 'prototype' electronic items for testing purposes in the field that I find awesome. Some think his items may be over engineered, but would you like that or prefer 'under' engineered, lol. He is a genius, have you looked on Pantera Electronics sight recently? Many new innovative products showing up constantly. Try his turn signal flasher module, changes out in a second, very inexpensive but super wow factor. I like the tone better than the ticking from the factory, plus with an eyeglass screwdriver you adjust how many beats per minute they blink! How about the door lights, another innovative cool item, again very cost effective. Super bright LED & now blinking so someone at night won't ~knock your door down the street~ because of a dim bulb. For under a hundred dollars, you can get three new items that will 'wow' other Pantera owners, they all install in a minute or two. He builds harnesses, correct complete battery cables now available in red/black or blk/blk as factory, he rebuilds gauges, he has a cool temp gauge resistor that is inexpensive and it works! He offers an H2o water temperature sending unit that has been tested to see if it's within values that work great together without having to install the 5ohm 1/2 watt resister as recorded in the factory TSB's. His resister is plug & play, also an inexpensive item. I love his new alternator, surpasses even the PowerMaster single wire I've been selling for years..Guys go have a look at his new offerings
