I got the following email from Claudia Lodi at Detomaso and was wondering if anyone is signing up with the registry. It seems kind of expensiveand was wondering if people thought it was worthwhile.

Dear Mr. Ford,

we know that you have a De Tomaso Pantera and we would like to thank you for this.
We are the De Tomaso company, in Italy , that built your car and probably sent it in USA.

If you wish to give us the chassis number of your car we can check in our files and give you the information we have.

We take the opportunity to remind you about what follows:

- we have an official de tomaso importer for Pantera spare parts.
PANTERA PARTS USA - Steve Wilkinson
16237 Illinois Ave
Paramount CA 90723
phone: 562 6343493
fax: 562-6347734
email: panterasbywilkinson@earthlink.com

If Mr. Wilkinson is unable to meet your needs or if you have some problems do not hesitate to contact us directly;
we do not send original Pantera parts to anybody else.

- As De Tomaso head office we have a Register to file all De Tomaso owners.
US$ 450 are required to be part of it ( just once ) , if you wish, and you will receive directly at home a certificate
of your car, duly signed by Mr. De Tomaso, a special hand made Pantera model and a plaque certifying your car.
For any further information visit our web site www.detomaso.it

- If you agree we will have the pleasure to include your name in our mailing list, in order
to inform you of any De Tomaso news.

We thank you for your kind attention and we remain at your complete disposal for any further information.

Best regards,

Claudia Lodi

And I thought I was the only one to receive this e-mail! Gary, you popped my bubble. I'm guessing someone sent them the list from the Atlanta car show and now we're the lucky recipients of their mailings.
I agree with you, that it seems a bit pricey, but I would like to hear from someone that is a registered member to evaluate the cost vs. return.
Yes, we'd be 'officially' registered with the factory with the current car, but what happens if we sell or buy another one? Just a thought....

Chris
Waste of money. So your name will go on a list. Big deal. I recently asked the factory for technical information regarding my GT5S and the total reply ran to three lines of type. The records held at the factory are rudimentary to say the least. The factory is practically an empty building.
