Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Check it OUT! Most of us (unless we're SINGLE or DIVORCED...oops..forgot RETIRED!)are faced with sharing the time spent with our beloved Panteras and time spent with the family. With THREE rugrats under the age of 9, I'm SMACK DAB IN DA MIDDLE of IT. What has a 429/360 HP Ford V-8, seating for FOUR, Italian coachwork (Modena), AND an 8-Track tape deck? Give up?

Please consider the DeTomaso Longchamp or Deauville as an alternative. I have had a Longchamp since 1984. It uses the Aussie 351 developing 330 HP. I have seen other 'Champs in Europe with Webers and other upgrades to put the engine over the 400 mark. The Tjaarda styling and the handling are terrific. When they come up for sale, they are generally less than a Pantera. The factory had plenty of parts for them, although the factory might be on the mat right now. I had an Intermeccanica built Porsche Speedster in 1980 and it was awful. If you like the look of the Murena, you could also get a Dodge Magnum and have a dependable and very fast car for around $30K, although it isn't an Italian car. Good luck! Dave
