Jim Cozzolino is restoring my Pantera I acquired back in september. The interior can do with some upgrades and certainly the seats. I have been looking at different vendors and different seats, no issue over there, but do you all mind posting some pictures with different seats in the Pantare togheter with the brand/type and a short idea wheter or not the install was straight forward or not.

Thanks for any help.

Check out David Berman's excellent site dedicated to his Cat: http://www.panterapassion.com/ He had his seats custom re-built. Check out the DETAILS tab and then INTERIOR. Yes, I frequent David's site! Wink

The below pic is from #2222, located in Tempe, Az. Coz should know this car as the Harry Deshong Pantera. I think these seats were from an F355, but I'm not sure.

I have Corvette C4 seats in the '74, but they are the later 94-96 style, slightly more rounded. I'm going to switch to Racetech seats as I rebuild it.

The beauty with Corvette seats is there are a number of vendors supplying seat covers, so you can pick up a pair of seats reasonable and just get new covers. The Vette vendors offer all std colors and many do custom inserts, piping and stitching in full leather or vinyl at very reasonable cost.

The GT5 has Lotus Elise seats and I like them a lot, narrow and reasonably comfortable. They sit real low down and offer loads of headroom then again the GT5 has dropped floor pans as std.

Anyone used these: Monte Carlo.

C4 also look nice.

Perhaps I need to try the recovering of the original seats but with improved foam. As i understand it the original seats offer little side protection.

I had Scott Bell redo my factory seats - fantastic work, well pleased there. Far more comfortable than stock.

My car has a pair of Herrig's C4 seats in leather. Much nicer in looks and comfort, but you do give up some headroom.

If you do a search, you'll see lots of info on this topic.

I bought a pair of Gary Herrig's re-upolstered C4 Corvette seats for my '74 with stock floor pans. VERY NICE workmanship and looks period-correct. When bolted directly to the floor, I am 6'-2" and my head is about 1" from the headliner. OK if you DO NOT plan on using a helmet (which I do)

I AM SELLING THESE SEATS FOR $475/pr. See my posting on the Parts for Sale section.

I saw that but as I understand it he does foam fro 72+ but not for the earlier style seats...so I would only recover the seat and not improve the foam, which is a shame...

Ron, what did you buy? A link maybe? What is 5-9 Are those your working hours? No serious does 5-9 mean about 6 foot tall are whatever it is you are measuring in.

5-9 = 5 foot 9 inches

1 inch = 2.54cm; 1 foot = 12 inch; 5'9'' = 5 x 12 + 9 =69''. So that would make Ron about 175 cm.

That is very nice. So if I understand this well then I need C4 seats and then have them redone by Scott Bell in Pantera seat pattern. Right?
