temp gauge redundant to the console
The gauge on the floor is a "capillary tube" type that runs into the block.
The gauge on the console is the stock sender in the swirl tank.
(It has an added feature of having a stock sender in my oil pan. That way, using the "spare" switch, I can get my oil temp, and my coolant temp on the same gauge).
The car was running hotter than I was used to on the way up the hill (indicated 230*) but no issues. It cooled down quick as we got over the hump at 8000', and headed downhill for the last couple miles. It was very cool on the way down the mountain - 7500' to about 2500'.
