Took #1267 to it's first ever classic car meet in denmark. I guess they like panteras :-).

Motorretro - pantera

This is what google translator got out of the danish editors text on "Motorretros" site:

"Today will be brief because yesterday was long: I have never tried so many different delicious Italian sports cars in such a short time. The event at Herlev yard had expanded repertoire tremendously, and the Italians dominated - including the hybrid class, where an incredibly beautiful Pantera took the palm trees.

As the words begin with the winner of the hybrid class - cars with an engine purchased from another manufacturer. De Tomaso never made another, and Kristian's ultra fine 1971 Pantera took most by storm: it was ridiculously beautiful restored, simply. Insanely great color, work and form - a worthy winner.

It did, however, not take all by storm, for it was also incredibly modified and Original Polizei would stop it immediately: 550 horsepower from a now seven liter large V8? Custom-made rims oversize? Well, me and assessor John also considered a worthy Fiat Dino as the winner, in total contrast was quite original.

But it is hard to resist the impression of a shallow acqua verde wedge shape from 1971, and the craft of the Tomasoen could not put a finger on. So it won - but there were many others who were worthy of mention. And the publicity will come later. Here and now just a congratulations to The Tomasoen - and Claes Falk Toft, who laid the earth, grass and gravel for: An excellent day with a fine array of cars and enthusiasts."

Very good! That color is beautiful. There always seems to be some negative comment in articles, even in positive articles about Panteras. Maybe media just covers all bases; although I suppose the comments noted are true, as there are always those that must have the time capsules with no modifications whatsoever. I like em both, stock & customized, and I wouldn't even consider yours modified.
Guys - thanks for your comments. It REALLY is nice to just turn the key and DRIVE for a change. The attention these cars get whereever they turn up is just incredible.

Except for a few minor issues I have to solve before the LeMans trip everything SEEMS to works real well.

The air kind of went out of the baloon though - after the zillions of hours under this car, I'm having a hard time finding the motivation to fix the last things - I wanna drive, drive, drive .... burn rubber

You know, that's what the last nights before the road trip are for. LOL.
I'm trying to force myself to do one little thing every other day to keep going. But you know, it's good to be driving too, not only for the fun of it, but to gain confidence before the trip. If you happen to have borderline issue somewhere, it's better to find it in your own neighborhood. Smiler

Cheers,
Janne
