A new Pantera client contacted us re: a red Pantera on ebay, cheap. Asking if we could make it new again. I said absolutely we'll make it perfect for you! But...is that the car w/the automatic transmission? He said, no it says in the ad title manual transmission, plus I can see the 5 speed shifter in the picture. He also said the transmission is hooked up it will drive. I laughed, said come-on man think about what you just said... theres no drive shaft out the back of the car! Lol. Poor guy, he was soooo confused. He said hes going to offer him 18 for the car & get back to us. Whew. Glad he called us prior to purchasing he was ready to pull the trigger.

Unbelieveable. Now imagine someone buying that car: just like Doug almost did, believing the ad, maybe even inspecting the car not knowing what their looking at.

…… then I would not call it inspecting…
I paid somebody who knows Panteras to look at it before I bought the car! There’s the smart way and the cheap way who bites you in the ass!
If he gets it for 18K, might be an OK deal…
That picture has been bumping around for a while now, hasn’t it?
I think 18 is a deal, he said he would offer 18. Cars been for sale a year or more???
Amazing, I guess buyer beware! One look at the picture and you can see something is wrong, unless you are a person that just put gas in your car.
Whatever the car is +-50 K and a lot of work.. My guess…🤪
This Pantera is listed for sale at Beverly Hills Car Club. They also currently have another Pantera and a Mangusta. Definitely interesting cars of all types at their place! www.beverlyhillscarclub.com

I’d rather would steer people away from them… (see second post on top)
Saw that one and figured it had some sort of "ai" drive system. Nothing wrong with the seller. They have the "thing" and its up to you to see if it's for you or not. Before internet and forums etc. it was not always easy to get real facts/information as a buyer discovering the car they always wanted. Now you can see what's good/bad/weird and go check it out before buying or have a pro do it for you. And, some people just love challenges of saving cars that sit strange, look twisted, have mystery motors and unintended flow through ventilation and, are so sexy that nothing really matters anyway.
I think that I remember Hall building more then one automatic? I'm thinking three but at least two?
I thought one was one of the targa roof cars?
Those cars needed extra bracing that went through the rocker arms and bolted into the wheel wells. The extra bracing added considerable weight to them. Even so, they would twist and the roof panels would leak as a result.
I think the transaxle came out of a Renault? I heard that the thing would run but was incapable of handling the torque of the 351c dependably?
I don't know what happened to those two cars? Mike Cook is who I used to ask about that stuff. Bev never knew the details on anything and the other girls there know even less.
Hahaha! Not the first time BHCC has bolted an automatic transmission into a Pantera to make it appear more complete and garner a higher sale price. Definitely a deceptive practice. However I have a friend who purchased a car there and had a good experience. I visited their showroom/warehouse a few years ago and was impressed with the quantity and variety of cars on hand. Some very nice examples, and some absolute turds only held together by the rust. And not a lot of care in how they handle some of them - Ferrari 308 backed into a brick wall for example, and another one or two touching fenders - they're packed in tight!!! Totally unnecessary damage done by BHCC in my opinion.
As always, Buyer Beware! Never buy a car sight-unseen, unless you've had an independent qualified 3rd party inspect the vehicle in person on your behalf. A plane ticket is cheap insurance when weighed against the risk of a mistake that could cost you 10's of thousands of dollars!
