Didn't make it to the auction, but did DVR and will have to play it back and see what they say about them. On the web, seems the group 4 only bid to $40K, but then I just noticed it had a salvaged title too and that probably didn't help with some potential biddas. Panteras never seem to do good at auctions, but I guess we still try. I would have at least like to have seen them in person and took some photos regarding condition, as TV is real deceptive when I have attended these in person.

Although I got to the Mecum auction, this afternoon, after the Group 4 silver Pantera had already ended its auction with the No Sale $40K top bid, I did get to see the car afterwards in the staging area. While an impressive car, there were areas of paint on the car that needed attention as well as the flared front fenders seemed much too large for the front wheels and tires; it was not proportioned properly, and I overheard others who were looking at the car making the same comment. Nevertheless, it is obviously worth well over the final $40K bid. The auction was certainly more well attended than the Barrett-Jackson event at the Orange County Fair Grounds of two years ago, when on Saturday afternoon there were very few bidders in attendance. Fun day looking at some great cars.

Yes, probably just the offset. I did some photos of our Cars & Coffee, three group 4, and it seems these fenders are kind of big too but offset in front is out somewhat more I think: http://www.poca.com/index.php/gallery/?g2_itemId=3767
