Just my feelings on "racing the Japanese rice burners:
I rescued my Pantera two years ago from a gentleman who did nothing to preserve the car. I have spent many thousands of dollars in restoration and rebuilding. I have over 450 horse power an a beautiful interior and paint. I would't be afraid to race anything, but I choose not to. I have blood, sweat, and tears in my P and I would
not take the chance of ruining the picture I have created in my mind over a senseless race , at least not on city streets and freeways, and against a dime a dozen Honda or Toyota. My two cents.
I had one on my tail the other day stoped at a light, with some metal garbage can for an exhaust. The light changed and I pulled away nicely, still they rode my butt. So, pedal to the metal, and with Hall Big Bore Exhaust, left them far behind in a ball of roaring thunder. I think the noise scared them more than anything.

No, I don't know how they pass smog since these cars seem to be newer modified cars.
Just to give you something to think about, there is at least one murder case resulting from street racing. The intent component of the charges was met by concluding that the act of entering into a street race amounted to a reckless disregard for human life. Basically, if the other guy kills himself, or someone else, you could face a murder charge for being a participant in the race. So the question is, do you really trust these kids enough to risk ruining your life if they kill someone?
this is a true story ,went to lacr to see my buddy run hus mustang. i caught one kid pouring dr pepper on his front tires (traction aid). after taking to the guys who work in the starting line pit at the chain he he said you wouldnt belive what these guys do and it didnt surprise him. dont bother with the guys in the hondas.. the omly ones that can put out any decent power are the turbo supras and rx7S. remeber they put 40k in a car to run 13S, then loose the eng after 4 passes. kepp the racing on the track.
