Tried to order 245/45/16 Pilot Sports through Tire Rack. Found they were backordered and Michelin says they have no plans to do a production run for them. Anyone have a source?

Tire Rack 1-888-371-8473 x 626 "Greg" told me an hour ago they have Michelin Pilot Sports 225/45/16 in stock. Said there is no indication posted by the manufacturer that this size will be discontinued. They're not 245's though. But you don't have to throw away your 16" rims! I ordered 17s for the front so I can get 245's. May want to ask is Pirelli P-zeros are available in that size. Michelin is starting to offer PS-II's but with a different tire tread.
VFI: Count me as one of the 16" crowd. Don't like the 17" look on the front, too "full" of wheel. I might look into the 225's but they seem a little narrow. No luck with the PS-II's on the Pirelli website. Looking at the Dunlop 9000's now (but they're probably not available either!).
A phone call is easier and he's faster than me on the computer and can talk at the same time. H tells me the 245/40/17 are a very popular tire, they go on BMW's, they'll be in production a long time. Sold! I decided to go with 17's in front. It's too late for the 16" front wheels. It's got the right look, you'll see. European. Vegas, that's where photo's will start flying, right?
