Pinion depth question

The measurements are marked on the ring gear. I have rebuilt several ZFs and have not seen any spacing measurements on the case. This would be unlikely as changing gears on the shafts would potentially alter required shim spacing and any markings on the case may potentially mislead the assembler.

I thought that I had a good pic of the markings on the ring gear; however, I guess they were on my pre-crash hard-drive. You may see them on this pic although small.
