Anyone have a source for the spring in the power window regulator? I an talking about the flat coil spring that puts tension on the arm as it goes up & down. Many years ago I was sitting at a traffic light and there was this sudden explosion sound that scared the daylights out of me and my window wouldn't work anymore. Upon teardown of my door I found the above spring had broken. After calling all of the vendors and getting a spring which clearly wasn't correct, I happened to open the trunk of my 88 Mustang GT convertible and to my surprise I was looking at exactly the spring I needed. The trunk hinge spring was identical to the regulator spring. Took the one off my GT and put in the the Pantera. Perfect it!! I was able to order a replacement spring from my local Ford dealer for the GT (now I wish I had ordered 2)
I recently started the Aerostar power window conversion and when I got to the passenger side I noticed the above spring was rusty and kind of creaked when I manually moved the arm and I would like to replace it before I put the door back together.
I have tried Ford and many of the online parts locators and my local junk yard with parts locator access but no luck.

Any ideas??

thanks
