The driving season is just about finished here in N/W illinois so i decided to pull my engine and begin my engine work. Part of the plan is to repaint the engine compartment which means cleaning off all the old sagging undercoating. So i decided rather than just move the condensor out of the way of the engine i would go ahead and remove it and recharge the A/C system in the spring when im finished. What i don't know is if the freon is R-12 or R-134? I looked back through records from the previous owner and found he had the pump replaced with a rotory from Hall in sept of 1997. All the hoses still look as new. Is there a way to tell easily if i am running R-12 or R-134?
Thanks,
Toby
