Radio Question

Hi All - I have been having a problem with a dead battery. I have traced it to the radio. It seems that the radio circuit is not switched. Is this standard? I know Panteras did not come with radios from the factory, but I assume this wiring is factory. Thanks for the help.

The radio wire is violet with black stripe and powered all the time, fuse #8. Many modern radios use power even off to maintain memory and other power supplies. I recently measured a modern radio current in a Pantera to find it was 0.12 Amps ... discharged the battery in 2 days.
