How do I adjust the piston. The unit on my car will not retract enough to allow me to install a new pad. I used a thin used pad, and I knoe it ain't right. Jerry from PI said to turn it 45 degrees and depress it, then turn it back and it will be self adjusting. While my friend Ron says the threads are fine and you must turn it many times. I can't even get this one to turn at all. What do I need to know?

Jerry is right, put a screwdriver on the slot and turn the piston 45 deg and use a clamp to compress it, then rotate back to normal, there are no fine threads.

parapanteraIf you can't fix it with a hammer.....you have an electrical problem.

LPB, I,m not sure if I'm the "Ron" you mentioned since I have shown theis page to someone before. Check the page Rear Brakes and check your button position shown 4th photo down.

Yes Ron, I was refering to you. It all makes sense now that we took it apart and put it back together. I was under the impression that I had to turn the piston as you put it "more turns than it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll" Any way I have worked my spare one and depressed it. Now that I know what I'm doing, It's off to the one on the car. Thanks Ron and Mikee

You know Ron, Now that you mention it. Your page never says to "turn the piston 45 degrees and depress it back" You have a pic of it at that position. I think it would help your page if you actully say to turn and depress. Thanks for youe help!
