Rear window rubber, which way round?

I am hoping to get my glass back in my Pantera and I have a few questions.
Do installers normally use any sealer for around the front windscreen or rubber?
I am not sure which way round the rubber goes / window installed, on the the rear window.
The rear window rubber has a lip that fits over the metal body opening. The other side of this lip has ribs which seem to make sense to sit on the inside of the car. Is the rear window installed from inside the cabin and the rope used from the engine compartment.
