If you remember, my car has been disassembled, stored in a barn for 30 plus years. One of the significant concerns I had when I recently opened the barn was the internal condition of the engine and more so the ZF.
The ZF was crated

and shipped to Ron.
Ron has opened the case and it was as expected, but not as bad as it could have been. I have always thought the bearings should be replaced “just because”, however the RBT price list would make one tempted to reuse. Now, Ron has confirmed they NEED replacement. A quick scan of RBTs price list and that is going to be over $2K for a few bearings.

Now, the good news…So far, Ron thinks the gears/shafts look good and may be reused.
