I need to remove the old bushing that goes in the rear of the crankshaft to hold the roller bearing for the transaxle type 1. Does anyone know how to remove it?

You need to rent a puller from Auto Zone or buy one. One end goes in the middle of the bearing and the other end is a slide hammer. Makes it easy to remove.
Fill the bearing, and void area of the crank with grease, take a similar sized punch or rod (fits snugly to I.D. of bushing) Insert rod to bushing, hit with hammer and the grease will drive the bushing out.

I've used osofast's method to drive the bearing out hydraulically. I used soap shavings along with a socket that fit just inside the bearing and it took a few trys to stuff enough soap in there while compacting it, but eventually it compressed against the socket and came out with a few blows to the socket. you can also use an extension and some of the soap will bleed out as you strike it, but keep at it.

I've used this same method and it works well.
I used the Springer Tool Pilot bushing removal tool. Really nice device. There is also the wet toilet paper method.

..there is a youtube showing how to use a piece of bread (jam in the hole, then keep punching it in with a 3/8" ratchet extension to form a hydraulic that pushes the whole bearing out...)it does really work...
Presuming that you are replacing the bushing and do not need to save it, just run a tap into it. When the tap bottoms on the crank it will start to lift the bushing out.
Thank you everyone, bread worked and I was able to fabricate a tool by grinding down the head of a bolt.
