I want to remove my polyurethane a-arm bushes to replace with the softer factory rubber bushes.
The problem is I've never seen a poly bush, I can't even find a picture, so I'm not sure how to remove them. Anybody out there done this and can tell me the best way to get them out please?

I know this sounds odd but some of the roads here are a litte rough and this has led to both front inboard anti-roll/sway bar brackets snapping. The idea is that the softer bushes (I'm doing the sway bar bushes too) will reduce the impact forces on the chassis and stop anything else breaking (including my teeth - ouch!).

Polyurethane bushings are very easily removed. They are in two halves and will pull out of the holes without any tools at all, in most cases, maybe just a screwdriver. If you want to see what they look like, go to an aouto parts store and look at them. They have universal sway bar bracket mounting kits and they include the "clamps" that broke on your car, and the polyurethane bushings for about $15.99.

To install the rubber bushing will be more problematic. Best to heat the a-arms and freeze the "rubber" bushings to contract the metal casing housing the rubber bushing. Then they may slip in. Talk to the vendor about the installation for more details on this.
If the real problem is your front inboard sway bar brackets breaking, have you either:

a) Replaced these bushings with rubber bushings (assuming they too are polyurethane) OR

b) Changed the OUTBOARD bushings to the spherical-type (SphereBar)

Pulling the A-Arms out is certainly MUCH more work than playing with the swaybar bushings.
