Removing Vent grills | The De Tomaso Forums

I'm in the process of installing some functional vents that take the place of the rear quarter window and the existing vent grills. On the passenger side there is a round hole that I can just barely get my hand through to remove the nuts holding the grill in place. Oddly enough there is no such access hole on the drivers side. Is that grill attached differently? I give up, what is the secret?

You have to pull the rear wheels and remove the splash shields to get to those nuts holding the gills.

Thanks. Seems like it would have been easier to put access holes on both sides. Gotta love the Italian engineering.

They're put together by our Italian friends to never be taken apart again. They're not supposed to live for 40 years, they're engineered to Italian specs to live for 5-10 years, and then you buy a new one...

Twist a nut, break a stud.
Had to lub mine down with WD-40 just to keep from breaking the rest of the studs

Exactly. I'm soaking all the studs in Kroils now and hope it works.
