Dear Boss Wrench
I found that the heater fan switch in my 74L was not working. To be more specific, the low speed was not working on this three position switch. After inspecting the back of the switch, I found that the Yellow wire that should be going to the fan was very lose. How lose was it you ask? Lose enough that when I wiggled that wire, the wire and the switch's contact tab that the wire mounts to, well they both simply fell out of the back of the switch.

So now I am looking to replace this switch and maybe buy a spare one for the tool box. Where do I go for a replacement? And did I read somewhere on one of our forums that the Mercedes or BMW switches can be used?

Thanks again for the help......Doug.H

100% of the usual Pantera vendors stock a replacement for this switch. I can't tell you what if any interchanges exist for junkyard cars, though. FYI, the BMW switches mentioned are for the window lifts. It's well known that ALL the 30-year-old OEM rocker switches will eventually behave this way. The vendor- replacement switches often do not have the same markings as your originals; some guys drill out the pivot-rivits and interchange the old rockers with the new switch bodies, which works but IMHO is a bunch of work.
