Mick, .. I can share my experience wit a Lunati roller cam utilizing Comp can valve train. It produces near 600 hp and runs the 32oo lb car in the eight at 100 mph 6.82 average et.I have over a hundred passes and have checked the valve lash 3-4 times and it never need adjusting. If you hear a attle or feel a slackness. Investigate Use a sscreen in yyour oil block return
Thanks LPB for the reply. I just got through adjusting the valves last weekend. It's the first time since June of 04. Best I can tell the valves were about .007 out on avg. That was 1500 miles on the engine. I think that is pretty good and I figure that's normal wear, but need to know what the lifetime is for these parts. I know a hyd.system will go 100,000 miles with no problem... Should I expect the same from this setup?

Mick, no first hand experience, just what I read on other forums, the unfortuante answer seems to be NO.

It appears the lash clearance on solid rollers beats the little rollers to death, and eventually they'll come apart. Failure seems to occur sooner than 10,000 miles. In some cases I've read failure at 4,000 miles.

There are guys with more experience, hopefully they'll post a better reply.

This is the reply I got from Crower.

no real maintenance, except inspection (thumb roll test) if you have any questions you can send them in. i wouldn't worry about it now unless you have extreme spring pressure.

Subject: Maintenance

I ordered cam P/N 15480 solid roller cam and lifters from you guys about 3 years ago. Have roughly 1500 miles on the engine since. My question is what maintenance do I need to do in the future to the lifters?
