There are stand-alone rev limiters available, such as the ones used with magnetos and/or points 'n coil ignitions. Rev-limiters are of two kinds: the 'soft' and the 'hard' type, both electronic. A soft-limiter pulls one or two cylinders off-line at the chosen rpm so the engine cannot continue to accelerate. A hard-limiter shuts the whole ignition off at a chosen rpm until engine speed drops to a lower pre-set value. This type will give you a near-heart-attack the first time you activate it, as it feels exactly like running completely outa gas or blowing an engine! I do not recommend them to people over 30!
My pantera runs on a MSD7AL2.
On this ignition there is on the side where all cables must be connected, a hole with a
two pin female connector in it.
This is the place where you have to insert
your rpm limiter, they are available in
many different rpm modules, ask for them
at your msd dealer.

Greetings paul ritzen.
