Chris,

Well then. That is something completely different!

I located some info that says the HG500 was used in Jaguar E-types, 68-69.....  BUT, always a but......  The holes that mount the clutch (side where crankshaft sticks out) have the bosses cut down a bit perhaps, and are NOT drilled.

You might find one that is "not stock OEM" that has the holes drilled.... If you have a local Jag builder.

I found a reference to a remanufactured Murray #57070 at O'Rielly Auto parts, a common US corner store parts house, but could not get their website to tell me anything about getting one!   It looks identical, but no clutch and no tag. About $171....but must order.....

A used  HG500 sold on eBay in May but was listed for a VW Beetle.....I could find nothing about it fitting VW's.  No info other than great pictures of what you need!

I found one reference to being used in a Ferrari 1984 400IA (ia) with "single AC"........no pictures.....

Cheers!!

Chris,

That is exactly what I was talking about!   On the pic of the clutch side, you can just see the holes where the clutch mounts in the Goose application.  The bosses are drilled and tapped!  This "may" have been a replacement OR Jaguar simply started using a common part instead of a unique one.....

BUTTTTTT!!!!! That price is WAY off what you should pay........   It does not have the proper clutch.    The pictures I posted are from the $99 pump which sold in May of this year, and has a clutch that looks much more stock.......than the e-type. Much more realistic price!

Keep searching! They are out there!!!   .....and your car isn't even rolling under it's own power yet......so this can wait......until you find the right price!   You can drive the car without AC. But having AC won't make the car go......!  )))  Steve
