I never could figure out exactly what those threads are. 7/16-NF is the closest I could come and they will work.

They are just strange sizes. If you convert 7/16 to metric they come to 11.1 mm.

It is far more likely that the thread is m12-1.25 which is the size of a VW wheel "bolt".

Those aren't that common here, except the ones that fall off of the VW's parked on the street?

I'll look for one in the gutter the next time that I walk the dog?
