Mark,
Thanks for the show info. Unfortunately that date conflicts with the Belmont Shore Car Show. Typically, you can see six to twelve Panteras there. Most of which are TPOC members parked together as a group. Why don't you come join us? The Belmont show is great! It has been estimated as many as 40,000 spectators are there to see 700 cars and 100 motorcycles. I am usually hoarse by the end of the show answering so many questions.

Yes Belmont shore's is a large car show, I went last year. Lots o cars.

BUT

They do not plan parking very well, not enough space for the show cars.

Lots of kids (bad)
Lots of bike riders (more bad)

I found myself "Guarding" my car from bike riders and the dirty little hands of kids. Not fun for me, The bike's are really bad, they love to ride up or ride around your car looking, I could see it coming, big scratches -- about pedal high......&%@(*&#%^@ I'm sorry

I see Santa Margarita has a class for Panteras (Ford Special Interest), maybe I'll try it out this year....

Shotgun,
I agree that they park the cars too close together at Belmont Shore. I complained about that a few years back, apparently to no avail. I have shown my car there three or four times with no incidents and I don't remember hearing of anyone ever having a problem. If anyone out there is planning to show your car at the Belmont show, show up early, like 6AM or else you may have to park on a side street which gets much less traffic, and for me got pretty boring. Too bad both shows are on the same day. Oh well, I guess it could be worse, we could have no shows to go to. Life in the big city. Smiler

I agree, Belmont Shore CA is a great show to walk around in, but the bikes and razor riders are a pain. But those are the risks we take I suppose. In 2003 I knew a guy that got a nice gouge from a biker just taking a peek in the window...nice scratch into his $50K paint job. I am still debating to participate or just walk around. But it is a real fun event (see photo of the wife looking too closely at these dudes car).
Link below shows some cars from the 2005 event.

On a somewhat related subject, while cruising Main Street in Huntington Beach last night, I was at a cross walk waiting for auto and pedestrian traffic to clear so I could pass thru the intersection. A nice young man tried to force one of my headlights from the up to the down position. You can imagine my displeasure. After yelling various and sundry explitives I decided to continue on my way which happened to be in the opposite direction of the _____ing moron. I did seriously consider parking the car in the middle of the street and getting up close and personal with the bastard. I think I made the right decision by moving on, chances are I would have gotten myself in all kinds of trouble had I done what I wanted to do. I guess the message is, let the cruiser beware of cruising Main in HB during the summer.

Yes, I cruised HB Main Street as well and it is a pretty crazy crowd (especially after dark!). I see you went when that major surfing contest was going on, and so it was crazier than usual…brought out all the party nuts with s*** for brains. Just show your butterfly knife next time and they will leave your lights alone.

Don't like no bastard touching my car,in any way.He has no right.Maybe carry a can of mace,or baseball bat.I'm not saying to hit the a_shole,but hopefully scare him off.A total lack of respect, and I don't have any respect for them.
