Hello everyone, I hope the summer went well for you?
All in the restoration of my DE TOMASO PANTERA L from 1974, of which I currently dismantled the left and right front axle. When dismantling the LH sindle I noticed the presence of a very thin steel "shaped washer", positioned between the sindle and the bearing. See the attached photos.
"Shaped washer" that I do not have on the RH front axle!!!
What is the use of this washer?

Thank you for your support.

When you look at it from the picture that I am seeing, it almost looks like the end of a ”speedy sleeve”, Which is designed for the repair of damaged shaft.

But if the washer is free, floating, and will slide along the spindle, that can’t be it. Normally that end of the speedy slave would be, but it up against the flange on the inside (top of your picture).

I have been wrong a lot lately - my wife points it out to me all the time. But I just thought I’d throw that out for you to take a quick look at, and to tell me that I’m all wet.

Normally, this part of a speedy sleeve is removed and discarded after installation.
