slave return spring

This spring has been gone a long time, Do I even need one. I just stuck this skinny one on today. My clutch felt like it was slipping when I hit third, but I think the top of my shoe was keeping the pedal from releasing. I do know that my dash1 had a return spring inside the bellhouse that forced it back by twisting the shaft. When I went to the dash2, I called S Wilkinson and told him I was missing the springs. He said the dash don't use the interal spring.
