My 72 Pantera has a slow start problem, at times. Sometimes, it will crank over just fine. Other times, it will just barley turn over, like the timimg is too far advanced. I just checked it today, and I am at 12 degrees. I stopped for gas, and it would just barley turn over. I stopped again, 15 minutes later, and it cranked right over. I got home and checked the amp draw, and it was 201 amps, but it spun right over. What is excessive? I have checked all connections at the battery, starter relay and the starter. Also the ground connections. Could it possibly be bad bearings in the starter that lets it spin fine sometimes, and hardly at all other times? Should I pull the starter and take it to a parts store for testing?
Thanks,
